state necklace// VINCA

I am so excited to do a giveaway with VINCA, a few weeks ago they had contacted me and asked me to do a review on this amazing state necklace which is just perfect! It is so tiny and delicate on, and the gold is just beautiful  I can honestly say I have been wearing it a ton lately and have gotten a bunch of complements every time i wear it, not to mention it goes with just about everything. if you like distinctive jewelry, then you have to check out their page they have some pretty amazing pieces!

Also I can not believe this year is already over, and 2014 is about to begin. This year has brought us, a new place, a move, a new job, a puppy and lots of love, but I have a feeling 2014 is going to be even better, with our four years of marriage sneaking up soon, and a little trip to Hawaii in the making I can honestly say I am ready for a refresher. cheers to all of you and to a new year!!

there really hasn't been to much going on around here lately just getting ready for christmas next week! and doing some much needed christmas shopping! I know i say this a ton but i honestly can not believe that it is almost christmas a week from tomorrow!? where does the time literally go? because right now I feel like I just can't catch up.  The snow is almost all melted and it looks patchy outside. I am hoping for a white christmas this year! and hoping that it sticks for christmas if we do get another snow storm which I'm sure we will.

brother and dad head out next week and I am so excited! I promise you will see new pictures soon :)

A little porch decor

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

sorry i have been sort of gone for a bit, with the weather being so cold and snowy I have really stayed in and haven't done much of anything. I did however, manage to decorate the porch with some pretty colorful christmas lights. It looks so pretty when they are on and lit up! I know I say it a lot but i really can't believe christmas is only a few weeks away. My brother and dad are planning a trip out here for their first time and I am so excited to have them here. So once that happens nothing much exciting around here lately. I do need to get motivated and get out my beautiful camera, maybe I shall start that tomorrow ;) Until then an old fave :

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” ― Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods

Little bit o' life lately! Happy friday!

a picture is worth a thousand words

Wednesday, December 4, 2013

this is by far my favorite picture of my brother and I when we were little. isn't he cute! he was nice then. Just kidding he still is. but its a funny relationship between a brother and sister you are young and love each other and teach each other funny things like jumping off the back of the couch to "fly"with a blanket around our necks as our capes. sister makes a successful landing brother breaks his arm. not so successful landing. then you grow up together and hate each other and call each other names and make each other mad like no one else can. then sister gets married and moves away to North carolina, brother misses sister, sister misses brother. brother comes out to visit and we had a great time. over the years I have been away from home have been the hardest. And brother and I have grown closer and miss each other and love each other. and when we see each other it is like we have never been apart. which is why I'm so excited to say brother will be coming out here soon with my dad to visit! I am so excited!

we got hit with a snow storm last night and everything is coded in white dust. I love this kind of snow it is so thick and perfect snow man making material. Everything is white, and cliche I know it is beginning to look a lot like christmas :) I never use to think I liked christmas but this year something different inside makes it seem cozier maybe it is because we have our own place and all the christmas decor is out and the tree is up, the snow storm was like the cherry on the cake.

minus the family who I am planning on seeing after the holidays :)

A thank you

christmas tree

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

over the weekend we decided to put up the christmas tree! I dont know why or what made us do it before thanksgiving but I have really been loving everything christmas as of lately. Hank loved the tree and was scared of it at first, but then it soon became a comfy spot to lay his sleepy head.

this time of year is always hard on me, being so far away from family and not being able to travel right now has really been sinking in.. thanksgiving is one of my favorites because of the food and everyone gets together! this year its different. Hubs and I will be celebrating our vary own thanksgiving  this year, and christmas which should be sweet and simple. how was your weekend? giveaway on the blog coming soon! :)
